Together with We.org, Tatiana and I went on a Kenya school building trip.

We.org is an international development charity and youth empowerment movement. I partnered with them last year when I helped fund and build a new school for children in Ethiopia.

That experience changed my life. It was an honor to support this charity again in bettering the lives of those less fortunate.

Kenya is a beautiful country in east Africa.

However, it is also one of the poorest countries in the world. Statistics show that 42 percent of its population of 44 million, live below the poverty line. This breaks my heart. As many of you know who follow me, contribution is an integral aspect of my work and life. I believe that the secret to living is giving.

All of us have the power to make an impact in the lives of those who are less fortunate than ourselves. My mission going to Kenya was to do just that.

On the first day, Tatiana and I got to visit one of the old schoolhouses. The walls were made out of sticks, mud and cow dung. Inside, all that existed were wooden benches where the children sat. A lot of the classrooms were overcrowded due to lack of resources. It's fair to say that this was not the most ideal learning environment.

This is where we came in.

Alongside the We.org team, Tatiana and I helped build new schoolhouses. Today, the children in the village actually have buildings to learn! What I love is that each new schoolhouse has inspirational quotes painted on them. Inside each of the schoolhouses they now have real desks, chalkboards, and books for reading. More importantly, the ratio of teachers to students is a lot better.

They actually train the teachers to ensure that children are given the best education. In order to entice the best teachers to move to this rural area, We.org built homes for teachers, on-site. Another reason why I love We.org is that they are big believers in the empowerment of women. Focus is placed on empowering the mothers of the children of these communities to work so that they have their own income.

While in Kenya, Tatiana and I were given the honor of speaking to a class of grade 10 and 11 students on the topic of business and marketing. A lot of these kids didn't know what the Internet was, let alone anything about an online business!

It is a privilege for them to even attend secondary school. Hence, learning about business from us was such a revolutionary concept for them. Tatiana and I were so humbled to share our business stories and inspire the students with business success principles.

By planting the seed now, our hope is that these children will be able to take advantage of the opportunities that the Internet can provide for them in the future.

Our Kenya school building trip was a transformational experience.

The people of Africa continue to face serious economic challenges. However, in the Western world, we have the resources and the financial means to come up with solutions to these challenges.  I hope my story has inspired you to make an impact and contribute in some meaningful way to the lives of others.

My life is all about making a difference. I hope yours is too.

WHY I DO WHAT I DO (is it just for Money?) https://projectlifemastery.com/why-i-do-what-i-do/ https://projectlifemastery.com/why-i-do-what-i-do/#respond Fri, 22 Jun 2018 14:00:07 +0000 https://projectlifemastery.com/?p=8421 My passion is my work. It gets me out of bed every morning and excited to start my day. Is it just for money? No. Are you ready to learn why I do what I do?

The post WHY I DO WHAT I DO (is it just for Money?) appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

If you've ever wondered why I do what I do, I'm here to answer that question.

Imagine that you didn't have to work for money anymore. Would you still work? When I first started learning from other people I remember being curious about this. People always ask me, “Stefan, if you are so successful in your life, then why would you share your knowledge, secrets, and strategies with others?”

People tend to think that, if you selfishly keep knowledge to yourself, then you will be able to prosper even more. It's based on the belief that the more people that know about a great opportunity, the more difficult it will be to achieve success. The skeptics love this way of thinking, but it's never been a part of my reality.

Are you ready to learn why I do what I do? In the words of Pablo Picasso, “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”

I believe that there is more than enough for everybody. However, not everyone shares my belief. People that live in scarcity have a hard time seeing or believing my perspective. They convince themselves that life is limited and that opportunities are few and far between. This is far from true.

Do you adopt an abundance mindset or a scarcity mindset?

In his research, Princeton University psychology and public affairs professor Eldar Shafir explores how people's minds are less efficient when they feel they lack something. When we feel lack, it wreaks havoc on our cognitive and decision-making abilities. Not everyone is selfish and just focused on making money. Some people actually want to make a difference and help people, even at their own expense.

This is my purpose in life.

There is a lot of joy, happiness, and fulfillment that comes when you serve and contribute to something greater than yourself. A mentor of mine once said, “You'll never be great in life when you only focus on yourself. The only way to become great in life is when you serve something greater than yourself.”

Do I want to make money? Of course. I want to be financially abundant so that I can continue to invest in myself, take care of my family and my kids, and contribute to non-profit organizations. I want to continue growing my team so that my business can flourish and I can serve even more people than I already do.

Some people judge me and say that all I want to do is make money. There is no way that I could do what I do if I didn't make money. A business has to make money. It's the #1 goal of any business out there. I couldn't create free YouTube videos, podcasts, and blog posts, nor could I have an amazing team behind me, if I didn't make money.

If you could be more abundant with your health, then should you? Of course! If you could make more money, then should you? Of course! Abundance is abundance. It doesn't matter what label you attach to it. I'm driven by money, but I'm driven more by contribution.

I want to be a person of value.

I've always believed that, if you want to earn more money in life, think about how you can be more valuable in life. This is the place from which money flows. If you want to build a brand, a solid reputation, and create trust with people you can't solely be focused on making money. Money is only a byproduct of creating value in the marketplace. I wouldn't have been able to build my brand to where it is today if I was just focused on money.

When you are building a business that is focusing on serving, you aren't operating on fear and scarcity. I operate from the belief that Zig Ziglar has, which is that, “If you help enough people get what they want, then you too can have what you want.”

In order to have more, you must give more.

People who have a scarcity mentality have a difficult time grasping the concept of contribution. When you hold onto fear for dear life, you don't have anything to give because you are so scared of losing what you already have. That's what you have to free yourself from.

I do what I do because I love it. I've been through a lot of challenges in my life. It took me so many years to overcome what I've been through in order to get to where I am today. When you finally overcome the problems that you've struggled with in your life and you achieve something great, all that you want to do is share that knowledge with others. You want to prevent people from going through the same suffering that you did.

I want to inspire people to become the masters of their lives

I've worked hard to get to where I am today, but in the grand scheme of things, money isn't what fulfills me. I live by Andrew Carnegie's words who said, “I spent the first half of my life making money and the second half of my life giving it away to do the most good and the least harm.” I love this approach to life.

The next time that someone asks me why I do what I do, I can send them this video! This is me, in full transparency, speaking from my heart. You may be skeptical that my bigger mission in life is to contribute instead of just making money, and that is OK. At the end of the day, all that matters is that I can look at the image staring back at me in the mirror and be proud. I'm leaving you with a powerful message from Kamal Ravikant.

In his book, Live Your Truth he said, “Reach out, share your truth, tell someone, ‘This is who I am. This is what I stand for. Hold me to it.' Often, we'll do far more for another than we will do for ourselves.”  This is my truth.

The Little Things In Life… https://projectlifemastery.com/the-little-things-in-life/ https://projectlifemastery.com/the-little-things-in-life/#respond Tue, 08 May 2018 14:00:03 +0000 https://projectlifemastery.com/?p=8200 The little things in life make for the happiest of experiences. Learn 7 ways that you can start to value these small moments in your everyday life!

The post The Little Things In Life… appeared first on Project Life Mastery.

The little things in life matter most. However, we get so caught up in the big moments that we don't see them.

In today's fast-paced, forward-thinking world, it's easy to forget about the little things in life. People get so consumed with the big house, the flashy car, and the million dollar dream, that they forget to relish in the happiness that the little things in life bring.

The big things are great, but I have found that the simplest of things in life have made me the happiest. Dr. Glenn Williams, a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Nottingham Trent University, says, “An effective route to happiness is not necessarily through experiencing major events. Rather it is the small, and often unexpected pleasures in life that can help us build more meaningful lives.”

In the words of Ferris Bueller, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it.” Are you ready to learn 7 ways that you can start valuing the little things in life?

Do you pay attention to the little things in life?

Too often we become obsessed with achieving big goals in life. However, we forget that all of those big goals are comprised of hundreds of small decisions that lead to the result that we are after.

Don't get me wrong, having big goals that you work towards is really important. However, if you get too caught up in the final destination, you will ignore the journey. As Bruce Burton said, “Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things, I am tempted to think there are no little things.”

We underestimate the power of a small gesture of kindness, a loving embrace, a smile from a stranger, or words of compassion These little things in life tend to have a ripple effect. A single drop of water can create a wave of change, and so can you.

You don't have to do something monumental in order to change your life or the life of someone else.

We've been conditioned to believe that the ordinary things in life are boring and uninspiring, which is why we tend to live for the big moments. We are inundated with messages like, “Think big!” However, when you adopt the mindset that big is better than small, you fail to notice that life is comprised of a series of small magical moments.

If you neglect to enjoy the little things in life, you are only left with challenges, struggles, and stressors. That is no way to live. When you stop and take the time to smell the roses, you have a greater appreciation for life's beauty. Research shows that those who regularly take notice of something beautiful are 12 percent more likely to say that they are satisfied with their lives.

Here are 7 ways that you can start to value the little things in life.

1. Slow Down

Life moves so fast that it can feel as if we are on autopilot. Do you ever feel like there isn't enough time during the day to accomplish everything? If so, you aren't alone. This way of thinking has become the norm. When we are in a state of perpetual doing, we can run ourselves into the ground and forget to enjoy the moments that make life worth living.

In his book, Thank You For Being Late: An Optimist's Guide to Thriving in the Age of Accelerations (Version 2.0, With a New Afterword) Pulitzer Prize-winning author Tom Friedman points out that the most meaningful things in life aren’t things that can be obtained through technology. He suggests that “The faster the world gets … the more you need to step back and appreciate everything that’s old and slow.”

Work isn't going away. It will always be there, so why not slow down for a few minutes and bask in the simplicities of your day? They are there for a reason, so I encourage you to start noticing them more. Whatever you enjoy doing in life, slow down and savor those experiences more often.

2. Help Others

Think back to a moment when you helped someone. How was it received and how did it make you feel? Helping someone can be achieved in a number of small ways, whether that's by giving a compliment to smiling at a stranger.

I believe that the secret to long-lasting happiness and fulfillment lies in helping others. Unfortunately, a lot of people get caught up in the hustle and bustle of their own lives, that they forget to think about others.

We are all on this crazy roller coaster of a ride that we call life, together. Why not support one another through the highs and lows? When we step outside of our own world and contribute to the lives of others, it gives us a sense of purpose. No contribution is too small. Open your eyes to the needs of those around you and ask yourself, “How can I be of service?”

By turning your focus on others, you will gain more perspective on your challenges, realizing that they aren't as bad as you made them out to be. We can improve our own lives, simply by helping others improve theirs. What a simple and beautiful idea.

Moreover, helping others is infectious. Those who feel your compassion will, in turn, be inspired to be more compassionate themselves. Be the change that you desire to see in the world. It's the little things in life that can have the biggest impact.

3. Adopt An Attitude of Gratitude

An attitude of gratitude helps us to value the little things in life that we often take for granted. The more thankful that we are for what we have, the less likely we are to focus on what we don’t have. This is why I am a big believer in the power of a morning ritual.

By starting your day with a grateful heart and being present with yourself, it gives you the inspiration that you need in order to see the good in everything. This is why I love keeping a gratitude journal. By recording my daily blessings, I move throughout my day feeling more optimistic and happier overall.

The next time that you get down or feel like life isn't going your way, take a moment and think about all the things that you are grateful for. Cultivating an attitude of gratitude takes time and patience. However, once you have adopted this positive habit, I promise that your life will transform for the better.

4. Live In The Present

I believe that if we want to feel fully alive and happy, we need to live in the present moment. A Harvard study found that we spend about 47 percent of our waking hours thinking about what isn’t going on. In other words, we are not present for almost half of our lives, proving that a wandering mind is not a happy mind.

Being mindful allows us to appreciate the little things in life, instead of worrying about what's to come. Chicag0-based therapist, Chelsea Hudon says that “We often miss out on life’s little treasures because instead of using our senses to engage in the world around us, we remain in ‘our heads,' worrying about the future or ruminating about the past.”

Being present starts with self-awareness. It's about paying attention to what is going on around you, without trying to change anything.

A great way to ensure that you are living in the present moment every day is to create a morning ritual. When you wake up, it is so important to not get caught up in your thoughts. The morning is an opportunity for you to start fresh and set the tone for your day. As part of your ritual, I encourage you to create a mindfulness practice, like yoga or meditation. Doing so will allow you to calm your mind, connect with yourself, and feel a sense of deep gratitude for yourself and your life.

5. Smile More

Research has shown that smiling releases serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter that produces feelings of happiness and well-being. Think about the little things in life that make you smile, whether that's listening to the sound of the rain, walking in nature, writing in your journal, or enjoying a bath.

The people that find a reason to smile, despite their life circumstances, are oftentimes the most resilient. Every time shit hits the fan, although they may be disappointed, they will still remain hopeful and determined to find the silver lining. Why? Because they have programmed their mind to look for the good.

In the words of Mother Teresa, “I will never understand all of the good that a simple smile can accomplish.” If you are feeling negative emotions, a smile can instantly shift how you are feeling. We forget how quickly we can brighten someone else's day simply by smiling at them. This proves that the little things in life mean the most.

6. Stop Comparing Yourself To Others

Do you look at others and feel jealousy or envy for what they have? If so, it's time to stop. Comparing yourself to others will only cause you pain and suffering. Instead, focus on how far YOU have come, and do the work to define your own version of success.

Social comparison is the killer of dreams. Many of us can be so hard on ourselves. When we turn our attention to others' lives, we neglect our own. As a result, we can miss out on a lot of amazing opportunities.

Sit back and think about all of the little things that make your journey so special.  This is an act of self-love. Count your blessings and embrace all of your strengths. If you only concentrate on what you don't have, you will never have enough. This scarcity mentality will affect every area of your life.

If you are going to compare yourself to anyone, make it count and compare yourself to you! How can you continually upgrade your life so that you are growing and evolving into the best version of your higher self, every day? Don't give away your power. Love your story and trust that you are on the path to success, whatever that may look like.

7. Spend More Time In Nature

Have you ever experienced a wave of positive emotions as soon as you immerse yourself in nature, whether that's going for a hike in the mountains or running in the forest? Spending time in nature is a beautiful way to connect back to yourself and what is important to you.

Oftentimes we forget what a powerful experience it can be to activate all of our senses. The act of breathing in fresh air and feeling the ground underneath your feet is a reminder of all of the small wonders of the world that we take for granted.

Over 100 studies have shown that being in nature, living near nature, or even viewing nature in paintings and videos can have positive impacts on our brains, bodies, feelings, thought processes, and social interactions. Pay attention to these micro-moments because they can help you cultivate a great sense of connection to yourself and the world at large.

When you have an appreciation for the little things in life, you experience optimal fulfillment and meaning.

Sometimes the journey is more important than the destination. I encourage you to be mindful and pay more attention to the little things in life. One day you will wake up and realize that, in actuality, they were the big things.

How Kindness Will Change Your Life And The World https://projectlifemastery.com/change-your-life/ https://projectlifemastery.com/change-your-life/#respond Wed, 31 Jan 2018 15:00:04 +0000 http://projectlifemastery.com/?p=7841 Kindness is powerful. Are you ready to learn from John Wang how kindness will change your life and the world? This is an interview you don't want to miss!

Change your life and the world, one act of kindness at a time.

This was the message that came across in my interview with John Wang, who is the founder of, One Kindness, a movement that inspires people to perform one act of kindness everyday.

Kindness is a simple concept, but it's impact is large in scope. You have the ability to transform someone’s life for the better, just by a simple act or word. It's fair to say that the world would be a very different place if we showed kindness and compassion to every living being.

Are you ready to learn how kindness can change your life and the world? In the words of Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” This is a special interview that you don't want to miss.

Are you ready to change your life and the world, one act of kindness at a time? CLICK HERE to learn more about the One Kindness Challenge!

Small acts of kindness will change your life.

In our interview together, I pick John Wang's brain on the importance of kindness, how it can change your life, and how it can make a difference to society as a whole:

Can you share a little bit about the One Kindness Challenge and how you created it?

The One Kindness Challenge is based on a simple idea, which is, if you do one act of kindness every day, for 30 days, your life will transform. We have this misconception that kindness is something that we do for other people; that it's about improving other people's’ lives.

We think of people like the Dalai Lama or Mother Teresa going out there and doing great things, which is fantastic, but science shows how much of an impact kindness can have on improving our daily lives in three major ways – in the way that it shapes our personal relationships, in the way that it affects our income, and how it affects our health.

These are three things that we don't usually associate with kindness, but there are so many studies to support how something as simple as an act of kindness can change your life.

What inspired you to take initiative and create something like this?

It was by accident. Last year I was traveling through Nepal and while I was on a para-gliding adventure, I got stranded in the middle of a village. A man drove up beside me with this family and he asked me if I needed a ride somewhere.

While he was driving, I was talking to members of his family in the car, and I found out that he was actually going in the opposite direction that I was going. It was a huge deal for him to drive all the way back into town for me. At the end of our travels, I offered to give him some money to at least pay for his gas, and he said, “There is no need for that, because I'm not only doing this for you, I'm also doing this for me, because I find enjoyment in helping others.”

That changed my entire perspective with regards to what kindness is, and led me to ask myself, “What if we don't help people for other people, but we also help people in order to improve ourselves?” That's what planted the seed.

Later on, I would hear story after story from celebrities, entrepreneurs, and athletes of how kindness has impacted and improved their lives, simply by helping others. We are communal in nature.

What you put out into the world influences how other people see you. If you have the desire to start a business, are an entrepreneur, or work in a corporate setting, the best way to improve your social sphere is by contributing to the lives of others.

A great example is the story of Tony Horton, the Founder of P90X. I randomly met Tony at the gym in California, where him and his entire team were inventing these crazy workouts at the time. I asked if I could jump in and join his training session. It was the most intense workout that I've ever experienced. At the end of the workout I told him about what the One Kindness Challenge, and he shared with me a story of how his business came to fruition.

He started off as a personal trainer in LA, but was really struggling. During this time of his life, he was reading a book and came across a passage that read, “Go do something kind for someone that you don't like.”

So, he approached a guy at his gym, who had previously rubbed him the wrong way, and asked him if he wanted to be trained, for free. Overtime, they developed a relationship, and as this guy started to see results from Tony's efforts, he organized a meeting for Tony to meet with someone.

This person ended up being Tony's future business partner, and the one who funded P90X and started the empire. It all started with a simple act of kindness.

If we improve people’s lives, we can improve our own lives. It's not about the size of the act, but rather, the size of the impact. In this moment, I'm sure you can think of a moment when someone did something for you that, to them, may have been really small, but it brightened your entire day.

There was a very famous story of a guy who walked onto the Golden Gate Bridge and killed himself, and later on when the crime investigators went into his home, they found a note on top of his bureau that said, “Today I am going to walk to the Golden Gate Bridge. If one person smiles at me along the way, I will not jump.” It's so tragic, yet so powerful to think that something so small could have prevented this tragedy.

Kindness is something that we don't think about everyday – like opening a door, smiling at someone, or offering to help carry groceries to someone's car. These small gestures can have a massive impact in somebody else’s life.

Why do you think that so many people in society live with a negative state of mind? Where do you think that stems from?

Ultimately, I think it always stems from fear, especially if you are not yet where you know you can be in life. There are days when people wake up and wonder if they are capable of rising up to life’s challenges. Days like these create fear that gnaw away at us, and when we give into that fear, it's easy to put other people down.

This is why I believe that gratitude is one of the most powerful mindsets that you can have. When you wake up with gratitude, you live from a place of abundance, knowing that you have enough to thrive. Negativity comes from fear and uncertainty, and a sense that we are not good enough.

When we engage in an act of kindness, it creates a sense of warmth in our chest, which is actually caused by stimulation of the Vagus nerve, which is connected to the back of our brain stem. This nerve releases powerful positive feelings in our brain, which can trigger a sense of inspiration and motivation.

So, in a lot of ways, if you are having a bad day, and you don't want to keep going down that cycle, sometimes something as simple as engaging in a small act of kindness can change how you feel instantly.

What are some of the top benefits that people receive from doing your challenge for 30 days?

You should instantly feel different. There have been studies that show that it has a compounding effect. It's what they call, “a helper's high.” You get a hit of endorphins, and your brain wants to keep repeating that. It actually dissolves the stress that we carry in our body and everything becomes a bit lighter.

There was a study that was done across 40 different countries that found that, the #1 trait that the majority of people list as desirable in the opposite sex is kindness, above financial situation and sexual attractiveness.

We think that kindness is attractive, because if someone has the ability to be kind, than they must live an abundant lifestyle. We want people around us that are living and giving because that energy is infectious.

Research has found that businesses that have some element of giving are much more profitable, have happier employees, experience lower turnover, and have better customer satisfaction. Toms Shoes is a really good example of is. They have a buy 1, give 1 philosophy, where they give away a pair of shoes to someone in need.

If you take a look at almost any business, from small, solopreneur type businesses, all the way to these mega corporations, the ones that have initiatives, where they are able to help the communities around them, tend to do better, because we want to support businesses that are supporting us.

We like people who want to give. We trust them more, and it build deeper connections. It all comes down to empathy. If you can be empathetic enough to be aware of the needs of others, and come from a place of giving, the Universe will give back to you.

If there are people in your life that are difficult there's a reason for that. They are not mean because they are naturally born that way. Kindness is inherent. Children are all about giving and helping one another. When did we lose that? Usually, it's during the process of growing up, when we experience pain and wounding, and our reaction to those feelings is defensiveness. In turn, we end up wounding others.

Can you share with people the purpose of the bracelet that you wear and how it helps with the awareness aspect of it?

I wanted to wear something that could help remind me about the importance of kindness. It's so easy to forget about it, so I created a simple reminder, in the form of a bracelet.

On the one side it reads, “One Kindness”. Once I have engaged in one act of kindness, I flip the bracelet around, which shows our logo, which is a heart, with a check mark on it. This symbolizes that I have achieved what I set out to do.

Every single time that I look at the bracelet, I am reminded of that feeling I get when I've engaged in an act of kindness, and it brings a smile to my face. On top of that, my friends and family can see whether or not I've engaged an act of kindness, based on which way my bracelet is sitting, which holds me accountable.

Do you have a final message that you want to share with people on the importance of kindness?

If there is one message that I could put on a billboard and share with people is the idea that, making the world a better place doesn't have to be this massive thing, where you dedicate a year of your life to go somewhere and rescue a village of people.

A lot of times it's about creating small ripples of impact on a regular basis. Make it a habit and watch your mindset change. Watch the way that it changes your psychology and the people around you. Just one act of kindness can instantly change your life.

I hope John Wang's message has showed you how kindness will change your life and the world.

If you want to purchase one of John's kindness bracelets, CLICK HERE to check out his website!

What act of kindness will you commit to doing today? I inspire you to integrate kindness into your morning ritual. It has the power to change your life, the lives of others, and the world as a whole.

In the words of Leo Buscaglia, “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

I recently witnessed the building of a school in Ethiopia that I funded with your support. That Ethiopia school inauguration was a life-changing experience that I will never forget. I am honored that I was able to be a part of such a legacy.

Together with Imagine1Day, I helped fund and build a new school for children in Ethiopia. As many of you know, contribution is an important part of my life.

There is nothing more fulfilling than stepping outside of yourself and contributing to helping people in need. This can be in the form of volunteering your time or donating money to a cause or charity. There is no better way to shift your mindset from one of scarcity to abundance.

Together, we can help change the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves. How will you make a positive impact in the world?

When we arrived in the village where the school had been built, we were greeted by hundreds of people. Everybody from the local children, to government members, to military officials, to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia. It was a beautiful and humbling experience.

In the Western World, it is so easy to take our education for granted. Many of us are blessed to have the opportunity and privilege to learn in a safe and positive school environment. Previous to this Ethiopia school inauguration, local children were educated in an open-air classroom. They sat on stones and wrote on their laps because their community did not have the money to build proper schools.

Knowing that due to our contribution efforts 700 local children now have new classrooms, a playground, and a safe and comfortable educational environment to learn in brings me so much joy.

The focus of the new school that we helped build is to create visionary teachers, students, and future leaders. It was awesome to learn that each teacher and student at the school has one-year, five-year and ten-year goals and a vision for their life.

I am a firm believer, that no matter where you are from, or what your socioeconomic status is, every person has the ability to achieve their dreams. The power of a vision cannot be understated. It has the ability to transform your entire life.

Overall, the Ethiopia school inauguration was one of the most transformational and eye-opening experiences I’ve ever had in my life. I believe that the key to a happy and meaningful life is contribution.

In 2018, I am continuing my contribution efforts, and will be traveling to either Colombia, Costa Rica or Guatemala to build homes for families that are living in slum conditions. My goal is to raise $20,000 total, to build a school and 3 homes for those in need. I will be matching all donations that are made, and also giving significant amounts from my own pocket.

If you would like to partner with me to help raise money and be a force for good, please feel free to make a donation. In the words of Kathy Calvin, “Giving is not just about making a donation. It is about making a difference.” Let’s change lives together!

I want to talk to you about how to step up in moments of crisis and adversity. There are a lot of challenges occurring in the world right now.

The devastation that Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Harvey have inflicted upon the people of the Caribbean, Florida and Texas is heartbreaking. Hurricane Maria has people in Puerto Rico currently in desperate need. My prayers are with all of the families who have lost their homes and loved ones.

Whether we are directly affected by these challenges or not, I think that a lot of people become passive to them. They don’t reflect upon how they can make a difference to help improve situations of crisis and adversity.

We are all global citizens; it is our responsibility to play a role in the betterment of the world at large. In doing so, we are helping to secure a better future for all of us.

In the words of Albert Einstein, “Adversity introduces a man to himself.” Are you ready to learn how to step up in moments of crisis and adversity?

It’s easy to get caught up in our own daily lives, but I believe that we all need to step up and become leaders, whether that means leading your team, community, family, or friends.

Be someone that steps in moments of crisis and adversity. Focus on cultivating the habit of being active rather than passive to active in all areas of your life. That is what true leadership is. Are you living an active or a passive life?

True leaders raise their consciousness. Instead of focusing solely on their own needs, they are more ethnocentric, world-centric, or spirit-centric. They have the ability to step outside of themselves and care about people and humanity, on a global scale.

I believe that within all of us lies the potential to give and contribute beyond ourselves. This is my mission in life, and what I commit to doing every day, both in my personal and professional life. Do you want to know how to step up in moments of crisis and adversity? Here are four ways:

1. Give Money

Giving money is one of the most valuable resources that you can offer to people during times of crisis and adversity. This is something that I always strive to do.

Sometimes when we talk about giving money, resistance can come up. You may say, “Stefan, I don’t have money to give.” If you feel that you’ve got nothing to give, that’s the moment at which you should give. Why?

Because it trains your mind to move from a place of scarcity to one of abundance. There will always be people in this world that are worse off than you.

It’s not about the amount that you give. Rather, it’s about cultivating the habit of giving. When you are able to step outside of yourself and give to others in need, it allows your problems to dissipate.

The Tony Robbins Foundation has a program called, “The International Basket Brigade”, built on the notion that one small act of generosity on the part of one caring person can transform the lives of hundreds.

Throughout the year he puts together baskets of foods for over two million people who are in need, and delivers them to countries all over the world.

There was a time in my life when I was in a lot of debt and lived with a scarcity mindset. I remember being so inspired by Tony Robbins’ Foundation that I went to a store, filled two baskets worth of food for families in need, and delivered it to their homes.

In each basket, I wrote a note, which said, “This is from someone that cares about you. All that I ask is that you take good care of yourself so that one day you can do the same thing for someone else in need.”

Despite the challenges that I was facing during that time in my life, this simple act of service freed me in so many different ways.

2. Give Time

If you can’t invest money, give your time, through acts of service, like volunteering at a homeless shelter or food bank in the city in which you live.

Not only are these experiences rewarding, but it’s also a great way to connect with others.

There are leaders in this world that step up and actually go to countries that are in need of help. They aren’t doing it for recognition. Rather, they are just doing it because it’s the right thing to do.

I’m going to Ethiopia next month to volunteer for a school that I helped fund and build. It is a powerful experience that allows me to get even closer to helping people.

3. Give Blood

Blood is a very important resource and something that people in dire circumstances need in order to survive. Not only that, but it’s actually good for you.

While women have their periods every month which allows them to cleanse their blood, men do not go through this process, which is why giving blood is great! It allows your body to create new red blood cells.

Go into your local blood bank, give blood, and change someone’s life for the better.

4. Send Positive, Loving Energy

Regardless of what your spiritual beliefs are, if you cannot give your money or time, send love, positive energy, thoughts, and prayers to those who need it most. I believe that love is the most powerful force in the Universe.

These are some examples of how to step up in moments of crisis and adversity. Don’t be passive. There is always something that you can do.

I hope I have inspired you to give more and become a leader in this world. There is a Chinese saying that goes: “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”

Welcome to my live #AskStefan Q&A, with a focus on how I can add value to you today!

As many of you know, my ultimate mission in life is to grow and to give. Every day and I wake up and as myself, “How can I serve and add value to others?

There is no greater gift that I can receive than knowing that I have made a difference in someone’s life by way of my content. I hope that the knowledge that I share with you inspires you to take massive action and live your life to the fullest.

I share Francois Baird’s thoughts, when he says, “My mission is to add value. My attitude is of active curiosity, and my method is through relationships of trust.”

I would like to share with you a few of my responses from my live #AskStefan Q&A:

How do you do market research on popular items for ecommerce?

For marketing research on Amazon I use Jungle Scout by my friend, Greg Mercer. You can do manual research, just by looking on Amazon and reviewing the best seller rankings and getting an idea of what the demand of products are, but the beauty of Jungle Scout is that it makes this whole process so much easier.

When you are deciding on a product, choose one that has the potential to develop future products with, that you can develop a brand out of, etc. When I’m deciding on a product I think to myself, “What strategies can I utilize that can really help me market this product?” I also see if there is an opportunity for me to do affiliate marketing with a product, create online courses, or find bonuses that are relevant to the product.

Can you still make money with Kindle publishing?

Of course! It is still one of the best ways for someone to make money online. Why? While it can take many months to launch a physical product on Amazon, the beauty of Kindle publishing is that it’s a much faster process. For example, if you’ve got an MS word document on your computer right now that is 5000 words, you can take that content, create a cover, launch your book, and tomorrow it will be on Amazon for sale, and you can start making money from it. It’s a newbie friendly, relatively quick way to launch something on Amazon. Sure, Kindle publishing is a competitive market, but you don’t have to worry about competition if you are utilizing good marketing strategies and are building a brand.

Do you invest your profits into hard assets, like real estate?

The money I make I use to invest in stocks, companies, and real estate. I like stocks that pay dividends so that I can get a passive income from that. I get taxed a lot less on dividends than I do on other sources of income. I also like real estate investment trusts, where I can still own real estate, without having to actively manage it. Some great advice from Warren Buffett is to make sure that whatever you invest in, the company is still around in 20 years.

How do you manage your time so that you are able to cover so many things?

The key is to learn how to master the concept of leverage because there is only so much time in one day. The greatest gift that money provides is that it gives you the ability to get more time in your life. At the end of the day, this is the most valuable asset that you have. I use money to have someone prepare all my meals for me during the week, to clean my apartment, to have a personal assistant, a fitness trainer, employees and teams that do a lot of things for me so that I don’t have to spend time on things that don’t matter.

At the end of the day, you can’t do it all. During the beginning stages, you may have to learn new skills, but you need to ask yourself, “Do you want to be good at 10 things or do you want to master 2-3 things?” Focus on doing a few tasks really well, rather than overwhelming yourself with a massive to-do list.

How do you know when to give up on a business idea and try another one?

Whenever I pursue a new idea, goal, or plan, I always give it a fair amount of time, like 6 months to a year before I expect to see any results. I know that, in order to succeed in business, you need to invest, long-term. It’s going to take about one year for your business to really take off and start doing well. If your business isn’t working in your favor, don’t be a dabbler and jump ship when things get tough. Rather, tweak and make adjustments to your business along the way. Experiment with different strategies, and commit to mastery.
